Set high on a hill with an infinite view of mountainous hinterland landscape to a fading horizon, this house was built as a comfortable retreat for a couple to retire in, in an isolated bush landscape. Built for passive low energy comfort year round in a varied climate, high and low temperatures, strong winds, or even bush fires, the house won the Master Builders Association award for Design in the Queensland Climate.
