Presently under construction, set in Byron Shire on the edge of Arakwal National Park and Tallow Creek, a 3 minute stroll from the beach, our clients needed to turn this existing 3 bedroom house into a five bedroom destination for family to travel to from Melbourne. The existing single storey, split level house was arranged around a courtyard featuring a pandanus tree and timber deck. We preserved the pandanus courtyard, and provided a new second storey with two additional luxury bedrooms with ensuites, connected by a bridge-like glass corridor over the courtyard, adding timber screened private verandahs for each room in light, weathered driftwood hues. The new second storey allows views of the national park and the ocean, which weren’t available before.
